*Shaba National Reserve *is the largest of the parks around Isiolo, 239 km2, altitude between 600 and 1500 m. It lies to the south bank of the Ewaso Ng’iro River. If you are lucky you find all the species here, except the hippo. Species which are not known or rare elsewhere are the Somali- of Blue-shanks Ostriches, Grevy Zebra’s, the beautifull Bias Oryx and the long-neck Gerenuk Gazelle. On the banks of the river you will certainly find the Nile crocodile.
